As your scrapbook journaling coach, Angie will guide you in getting the most from your journaling, and making your entries more meaningful. In this four-week session, you will learn how to use journaling to more effectively document the stories you and your family would like to preserve.

You will:

  • submit four writing samples for review
  • receive comments from an professional writer and instructor
  • get ideas for stronger, more effective word choice
  • understand the elements of an effective journaling piece
  • identify areas where your writing can improve
  • recognize what's been missing from your journaling in the past
  • better relate the stories of your life, and those of your loved ones

Angie will:

  • read four pieces you have written for scrapbooking layouts
  • point out the images and phrases that stick with me, and why
  • indicate the strong points of your writing
  • describe the feelings/thoughts she had while reading your piece(s)
  • provide objective, constructive, and kind feedback on your writing
  • offer prompts to add more detail and meaning to each piece
  • give you tips for overcoming writer's block
  • encourage and nurture you so you feel more comfortable with your writing
  • provide focused support to help you achieve your scrapbook journaling goals

How It Works
Over the course of four weeks, you submit to Angie, via email, four writing samples for review. These samples can be either examples from completed layouts, or pieces written specifically for this coaching session -- your choice. Angie will review them, and provide comments and suggestions on those specific entries: what's good and what works, what doesn't work, what should be changed, and what could be added. She will also provide one instructional item each week - this could be an article, a journaling challenge, or some other helpful tip that will improve your journaling overall. You complete the session, satisfied in the knowledge your journaling will now include all the right details and be more meaningful to you and your loved ones.
