This journaling tip was shared with me via email:

Angie, I love your journaling suggestions.  I thought I would share a great approach my brother came up with recently.

My sister and I were making a scrapbook for my Dad's seventieth birthday.  We asked for a journaling page from each of our siblings, all the spouses-in-law, and all of the grandchildren.  We also found
a favorite picture to go with each person's journaling.

But, as we searched for pictures, we of course realized that there were a lot of great family memories for which we have no pictures.  To solve this problem, my brother drew cartoons to illustrate some of
the best stories. He used photos from around the same era to use as a guide.  My brother and I had a great time, laughing as he drew the pictures.  I then wrote out the stories that corresponded to the
drawings.

I'm happy to say that my Dad was deeply touched by his album.  I'm hoping to get the sketch pad out again for my brother at Christmas and add to our collection.
