AUTHOR BIO
Students call her funny, quick-witted, inspiring, creative, and motivating. Her classes are "like a well-stocked and well-used library", "full of creative ideas". Angie Pedersen is just the person to get you pumped to tell YOUR stories, while laughing your butt off.
THE SCRAPPER
Angie started scrapbooking in 1997. Her first page proudly featured photos cut into every shape imaginable, as well as several decorative edges. Through
tireless research, she has realized that perhaps straight lines and simple, "do-able" layouts are more her style.
Her work has appeared in Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks, PaperKuts,
Memory Makers, Ivy Cottage Creations, ScrapbookCraft, Better Homes & Gardens'
Scrapbooks ETC, Personal Journaling, and FamilyTree magazines.
THE WRITER
Angie believes part of her mission in life is to convince and encourage people that their stories are unique, and that they’re worth telling. In keeping with that mission, Angie wrote
The Book of Me: A Guide to Scrapbooking about Yourself (E.F.G., Inc, 2002). The book met such a need in the scrapbooking industry, it went back for a second printing within four months of its release, and
currently sold almost 50,000 copies worldwide. She released her
second book, Growing Up ME: A Guide to Scrapbooking Childhood Stories, in
February 2004. Angie's third book, The Book of US: A Guide to
Scrapbooking about Relationships launched in February 2005. She has written scrapbooking articles for
OneScrappySite.com, ScrapJazz.com, OurCreativeCompanion.com,
The Successful Scrapbook Teacher, CroppingQueens.com, Memories in Store, and
Craftrends.
Angie is also the creator and editor of two award-winning websites, ScrapYourStories.com and OneScrappySite.com.
OneScrappySite, which
is ranked in the Top 30 of the ScrapbookingTop50, and enjoys over 725,000 page
hits a month, features Angie's popular "Font Tutorial". The Tutorial, which has
been
viewed over 35,000 times, is used as the basis for computer scrapbooking classes across the country, and has been featured in classes at Creating Keepsakes University
(CKU).
THE TEACHER
Angie first became interested in teaching when she realized her first career choice (being a baby nurse) could get "messy". Her college major of Early Childhood Education has equipped her well for cutting, pasting, and playing with stickers. While the only children she teaches now are her own, she enjoys traveling around the US, teaching adults how to use paper and their personal stories to "Show & Tell". She currently teaches classes on scrapbooking about yourself, quick & easy layouts, and hidden journaling.
(See her class descriptions
here.) Angie is also the author and instructor of the first courses on scrapbooking offered at
both BarnesandNobleUniversity.com and WritersOnlineWorkshops.com.
Angie shares her ideas with nearly 8000 people via her message boards at
OneScrappySite. She offers scrapbooking challenges in her e-newsletter
to get people motivated, and actually scrapping. "These books aren't going to do themselves!" she cautions.
JUST PLAIN ANGIE
Angie grew up in Kansas City, attended University of Wisconsin-Madison, and returned to make her home in Kansas City with her husband and two children. Once she gets rich and famous, she'll hire an assistant, a maid, and a masseuse, but until then, she does her own cooking,
laundry, and endless sibling refereeing.
